Puppy Raising

Being a Puppy Raiser

Puppy Raisers are a pivotal part of the development of a Canine Companions pup in our program. Raisers will recieve a puppy at about 8 weeks old until the pup is about 18 months old. They will teach the dog over 30 commands until the dog returns to Canine Companions in Texas for advanced training where they will hopefully graduate as a service dog. Puppy Raisers are financially resposnsible for all aspects of their pups care, although many resources assist to help you throughout your rasing journey, and we can help you get in touch with those resources.
