Mission
The Black Graduate Students' Association (BGSA) strives to provide an environment of innovation and inclusion through social and professional development for emerging scholars at the University of Arkansas. Although our primary demographic is graduate students of African, Caribbean, or African American descent, the organization is open to other students of color as well as those not of color who are seeking opportunities to practice allyship and understanding. We strive to promote and protect diverse programs and facilitate intellectual engagement for a community of incoming and continuing graduate students. Ultimately, BGSA looks to improve the status and retention of students within the African Diaspora in higher education.
