Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families PAID Internship Opportunity!
This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing, communications, and event planning while supporting one of Arkansas’s largest nonprofit events: Soup Sunday Northwest Arkansas and Soup Sunday Central Arkansas. The intern will help amplify AACF’s reach through social media, digital content, and community engagement. Passionate about mentorship, leadership and serving rural communities?
The Compass Foundation is looking for a Cohort Lead to guide a class of rural, first-generation students as they prepare for college and their future careers. Cohort Leads serve as mentors and facilitators, helping students build confidence, navigate important milestones, and develop the skills they need to succeed beyond high school. You'll receive hands-on experience in leading a cohort, facilitating discussions, building relationships with students, and working alongside Compass staff and community partners. A Cohort Lead will be involved for approximately 12 hours per month, including monthly in-person meetings in Farmington, and will receive a $750 stipend upon completing the semester. Japanese Speakers Needed!
IEEE-USA and the IEEE Japan Office will host the IWRC Smart Agriculture Technology Summit 13 October 2026 in Little Rock. This event brings innovators, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, researchers, and students from Arkansas and Japan together to discuss the state of agricultural technology and build bridges between the U.S. heartland and Japan.
The engineering department is in need of interested Japanese speakers to assist with a visit from these students in Fayetteville on October 14th and 15th. If you are an interested Japanese speaker, reach out to Louise Hancox in the Hub!
 Call for Papers: Arkansas Philological Association’s Annual Conference
This year’s APA conference is being held in association with UCA’s Graduate Conference in Literature and Film. They are inviting proposals from graduate students and undergraduates, including those participating in their first academic conference. Deadline for proposals has been extended to September 18. Conference Dates: November 6-7, 2026 Location: University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Check the news article for all the submission details.
Join a University Transportation Focus Group!
The University’s Facilities Management, Construction, Planning & Design, and Sustainability Office is forming focus groups to identify the transportation priorities and conveniences necessary to promote alternative modes of transportation and expand commuting options. They are looking for broad representation from various organizations, and a pink slip will be provided to participants for the purchase of a meal.
