Pusuits, Intellectual and Otherwise

It may seem as though we’ve only just returned to campus—because, in fact, we have—but there is no wrong time to luxuriate in the life of the mind. Especially when the life of the mind comes with an unusually enticing array of interdisciplinary courses.

Spring planning is upon us, which means you have the enviable task of surveying what’s ahead: new questions to pursue, unexpected connections to make and subjects you didn’t know you needed to know about until approximately three minutes ago. We have gathered some particularly engaging and thought-provoking options for your consideration. Think of it as intellectual window-shopping, except you are strongly encouraged to go inside.

We also have events on the calendar this week for contemplating life beyond graduation, that vast and mysterious territory in which, we are told, people continue to have ideas and do interesting things even without a syllabus.

And finally, a reminder not to become too relentlessly cerebral. Join us at Recess for an hour devoted to one of humanity’s more enduring achievements: ice cream. Bring your curiosity, your appetite and whatever scholarly rigor you deem appropriate to the occasion.

Notes from the Futures Hub.
