Meet the Hub:
Dr. Chelsea Hodge
Dr. Hodge is originally from Berryville, Ark., and was an Honors College Fellow when she earned her B.M. in music performance (flute), summa cum laude in 2012. An Honors College study abroad grant supported her adventures in Italy as an undergraduate, and her honors research on music in southern evangelical revivals led her to pursue a master’s degree (completed 2014) and a doctoral degree (completed 2020) in history.
As director of grants and research innovation for the Futures Hub, Dr. Chelsea Hodge is here to help you develop a thesis topic, find research mentors and committee members, and fine-tune your writing. She'll also help you navigate the funding side of research like finding stipends and paying for travel and confrerence costs. Basically, if you have a question about research and how to fund it, she's got the answers.
She also helps coordinate the Honors College’s extensive study abroad grant program. Talk to her if you're not sure which program would be best for you, need help with funding, or are needing help choosing related coursework.
This workshop will cover the nuts and bolts of applying for an Honors College Study Abroad Grant AND provide valuable tips for how to be competitive for funding!
