Happy Fall semster, Razorback Recovery Community (RRC)!
We cannot wait to see what we get up to this Fall, & are so proud of the growth, care, and progress throughout RRC these past few months.
There are lots of updates & exciting upcoming events that wouldn't be possible without your support and presence.
If you're interested in being a part of the RRC Planning Committee this semster, we have projects galore!!!
If you would like to help design & create the Razorback Recovery Library, plan events, programming, or RRC peer support groups, please fill out the Planning Committee interest form and let us know your availability.
Your ideas, input, and presence are what make our spaces safe, accessible, and possible for our community.
Our Recovery Lounge
The Recovery Lounge continues to grow! We have a trinket trade shelf, snacks, fidget toys, and a free zine library!!
The lounge is open Mon-Thurs 8:00-5:00 and Fridays 9:00 - 4:00
Stop by for a peer support group, to grab a snack, take a breathe between classes, or participate in the trinket trade economy!
Have ideas for a zine?? A design for an even cooler trinket trade system??? Planning Committee.
In one night, you can learn how to save a life. All students, faculty and staff are invited to join SEAR on Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 6 - 7:30 p.m., for SEAR's annual One Night event located on the first floor of the Pat Walker Health Center inside Classrooms 1116-1118.
In addition to guest speakers and refreshments, this free event includes hands-on naloxone training. Through this training, guests will learn how to spot the signs of an overdose and what to do. They also will receive naloxone, fentanyl test strips and a free T-shirt while supplies last.
Pat Walker Health Center has a Recovery Resource Library!!
RRC continues to grow and expand, and our spaces reflect this. Found on the second floor of Pat Walker Health Center (HLTH 2108), the RRC Library is now open.
The room is intended to be a quiet, on-campus, third space for our community or for anyone looking for recovery related resources.
Check-out books related to personal recovery, addiction, mindfulness, substance misuse, neuroscience, recoverying from trauma, self-growth, and more. Hobby kits are also available - explore crochet, collage, watercolor, or gardening. Books and hobby kits can both be checked out and taken with you for up to two weeks (please use the check-out sheet!)
But.... it's not done yet!!!
There's still a lot to do... hobby kits to assemble, bookshelves to build, books to sort, signs to make, decorating to do, and a sensory closet to create! Join the planning committee or stop by if you'd like to be a part of creating or designing this space.
