Greetings Students! We hope you are getting settled in to the new Fall 2026 semester. Below you will find important reminders regarding your accommodations as well as information on events/programming for the Fall semester and some additional resources.

Advanced Registration: Fully registered CEA students (not on a temporary/conditional basis) are eligible for Advanced Registration. Registration for Spring 2027 (including Spring/January Intersession) will be October 26 through November 20. Check the Office of the Registrar’s
Registration Periods webpage in the coming weeks for updates on specific registration periods. Registration groups and student enrollment appointment times have not yet been assigned, but once assigned, you will be able to view these in your Workday Student account. Be sure to meet with your academic advisor and ensure any holds are removed well ahead of Registration.

CEA Support Group A safe, supportive community to meaningfully engage and connect with peers while learning practical skills for navigating life and college with disabilities. The semester’s group will kick off on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at 3pm in ARKU 212.
- For: Students with disabilities
- Led by: Counseling-educated CEA staff
- Meets: Weekly during Fall and Spring terms
CEA Career Launch Cohort A career development program to build critical skills and knowledge, including disability-related competencies like self-advocacy and workplace accommodations. More details and the dates are on the
CEA’s HogSync page.
- For: Students preparing for internships, graduate school, or careers.
- Cohosted by vocationally-educated CEA staff and the Office of Career Connections.
- CEA Career Launch Cohort is held during the Fall and Spring Semesters.

CEA Study Abroad: An immersive study experience in
London, UK through the
Innovating for Access program to explore disability access, inclusive design, and the role of technology in driving social change.
- For: Students from any major
- Hosted by: University of Florida, in partnership with the CEA and Office of Study Abroad
- When: Summers for two weeks
- Funding: Ask us about our scholarship for CEA-registered students and other funding opportunities!
CEA Graduation: A pre-commencement celebration to recognize the accomplishments of graduating students with disabilities, complete with an awarding of certificates and celebratory reception.
- For: Graduating students with disabilities (all levels), plus their guests of choice
- Hosted by: CEA
- When: December (Fall Grads) and May (Spring & Summer Grads)
CEA Honor Cords: Specialized graduation cords, symbolizing disability awareness and achievement, to wear with your commencement regalia or just to keep.
- For: Graduating students with disabilities
- Provided by: CEA
- Pick up: Prior to Fall and Spring commencements
Disability Awareness Month occurs every October. Stay tuned for more details about exciting opportunities around campus this October, including a Disabilty Resource Fair on Oct. 8th and additional events and trainings in collaboration with various campus offices/programs.

Sensory Spaces on Campus
- Sensory Rooms or Spaces are specially designed environments created to help you manage your energy, focus, and stress levels. They feature tools like dim lighting, comfortable seating, white noise, and tactile items that allow you to either calm your mind or stimulate your senses, depending on what you need.
- NEXUS Lounge: NEXUS- Retention Outreach is located on the 6th floor of the Arkansas Union (6th Floor West - above the Verizon Ballroom). Check in with the NEXUS staff to use the Sensory Room.
- Mullins Library: The Calming Room is a safe place for students and staff to regulate their sensory systems through a variety of mediums. Check it out on the second floor, right next to the Children’s Literacy Collection!
