The Volunteer Action Center is a student-led organization that coordinates student volunteer efforts through on-campus programs and partnerships with area nonprofits. The VAC aims to engage and empower students
through service to enhance their overall education and benefit the University of Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas communities.
We are currently accepting applications for all 2019-2020 Board Positions. The positions serve March 2019 – April 2020, with all duties beginning March 28, 2019. Descriptions for the available positions can be found here.
Applications are due February 20th by 5:00pm.

Weekly meetings are mandatory for all board members. All members meet every Thursday evening from 5 to 6 pm, excluding holidays and finals week. Meeting activities consist of brainstorming, planning, coordinating, and troubleshooting for volunteerism events
and activities as well as participating in service. Each committee will schedule an additional weekly committee meeting. Attendance is required at all VAC meetings.
• Three unexcused absences in a semester will result in a consultation with the VAC President. An absence is unexcused if there has been no prior notification to the Advisor or the designated executive officer.
• Four+ unexcused absences will result in a meeting with the Advisor and may result in removal from the board
•Acceptable meeting excuses follow University guidelines (class, sickness, family emergency)
• Each member is required to attend and participate in the major VAC events—including but not limited to Make a Difference Day and the spring event.
In addition to weekly board meetings, all board members are required to attend a two day board retreat that will likely take place during the first weekend of the Fall semester.
Service hours are mandatory for all members. We require 25 VAC hours per semester, however most positions require more than the minimum 25 hours.
