Adding Dependents for International Students and Scholars

You’re invited to a special session to learn about how you can bring your immediate family member(s) to the United States as dependents. ISS advisors will go over the process for application and important aspects to consider before starting the process. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions!

CPT & Networking for International Students

You’re invited to a special session to learn about Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and networking as an international student!

Learn about CPT, an employment option available to F-1 students through internship or coop. It must be directly related to the major area of study and students must receive academic credit for the work experience. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions!

OPT & GoinGlobal for International Students

You’re invited to a special session to learn about Optional Practical Training (OPT) and job/internship website GoinGlobal.

Learn about OPT, an employment benefit available to students in F-1 status so that they can gain practical experience in their major field of study from ISS advisors. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions!

You will also have a tutorial about using the website GoinGlobal, a great resource to find jobs or internships in the U.S. and abroad. You can also search by company and see ones offer sponsorship for H-1B. Thinking about working in a specific part of the world? Find information about working in specific cities and countries through GoinGlobal informative guides.

Know Your Rights: International Students & Scholars

You’re invited to a special session featuring immigration attorneys Tony Weigel and Jacob Foor, along with ISS advisors, to discuss your rights as an international student or scholar in the United States.

This session will provide valuable insights into:
-Rights of non citizens within the U.S. Constitution amendments
-How to navigate encounters with law enforcement agents (Do’s and Don’ts)
-Steps to take if you feel your rights have been violated
-The latest updates on Executive Orders from the current U.S. administration

This session is intended for F, J, and H-1B students, scholars and employees of the University of Arkansas, providing an opportunity to learn more about your rights and responsibilities in the United States.
