Website Mission Membership Benefits
Mission The mission of Zero Hour is to center the voices of diverse youth in the conversation around climate and environmental justice. Zero Hour is a youth-led organization creating entry points, training, and resources for new young activists and organizers wanting to take concrete action around climate change. We are a movement that is organizing to protect our rights and access to natural resources and a clean, safe, and healthy environment that will ensure a livable future. We believe when historically underrepresented communities who are impacted the most by environmental injustices and are also leading the way in creating solutions, are included in environmental decision-making, movements, and educational systems, environmentalism will be brighter, more equitable, and more revolutionary for all.
Membership BenefitsLeadership Experience: You will gain the logistical and leadership abilities to be able to plan collaborative events and club meetings on campus. This includes understanding funding structure to fund large-scale events, collaborating with other RSOs, understanding how to book events on hogsync and how to successfully market on campus.Weekly Team Touch-Base:The ZHA group will have weekly meetings to discuss different climate and environmental projects. You will be sent calendar invites for all meetings at the beginning of the semester - they will occur at the same time each week after we survey everyone's availability (this will work the best if you use Microsoft Outlook).Optional One on One time:Outside of this meeting you can have one on ones with each of you to touch base where you are on your projects and what you need the officer team if requested or if we feel as if it is needed. You will schedule these with the officer team once a semester, it will also help you feel more connected and facilitate community and team building.
