The next guest on the Arkansas Folklife Web Series is Emma Fuston, the director of the Terra
Studios in Fayetteville. Terra Studios was founded in 1975 by Leo and Rita Ward, who were both
artists. The original Bluebird of Happiness was created at Terra Studios sometime around 1983.
Join us to learn about Terra Studios' history, current programs and featured artists, and future
plans.

This session of the Arkansas Folklife Web Series will be hosted from the Mullins Library in
Classroom 135 in Special Collections on September 1st from 1:00-2:30pm. This event is free and
open to the public; registration is required. This web series will be both held both virtually and in-
person.

Terra Studios is an organization with goals “to a dream of a brighter future through using art to
create a better world” and “to promote art and inspire creativity” as stated on their webpage. Emma
has been the director for over three years. At Terra Studios you can stroll through beautiful gardens
spread over 6 acres. In the main gallery, visitors can have a snack, view or purchase art made by
local artists. The atmosphere at Terra Studios is undeniably creative and happy. Visitors can also
sign-up for classes and workshops offered by local artists and experts.
