Mission The mission of SOTA is to be agents of change by demonstrating advocacy through community collaboration and awareness. All members of the association will be from the occupational therapy program to promote awareness of occupational therapy across the campus and in NWA. It shall be the vision of SOTA to be an association where all members learn to become transformative leaders and contribute to the mechanism of change. Members will work to support the pre-occupational therapy students as well as the OTD program in promoting occupational balance for all. It shall be the belief of SOTA to actively promote diversity and inclusion within the organization and provide members with the resources to strengthen their professional development.
Membership BenefitsBecoming a member of SOTA offers a range of valuable benefits designed to support your academic, professional, and personal growth. Members gain access to professional networking opportunities with practicing occupational therapists, alumni, and faculty through panels, Q&A sessions, and other events. We also offer educational enrichment through exclusive workshops, guest speakers, and hands-on learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Our organization emphasizes skill development by providing leadership opportunities, volunteer experiences, and mentorship programs that help build both clinical and interpersonal strengths. Additionally, members have the chance to engage with the local community through service projects that promote occupational wellness and support individuals with diverse abilities. Beyond academics and service, our RSO fosters a strong sense of community through social events, study groups, and peer support, helping you build lasting friendships and connections.
