Mission Employee resource groups are voluntary, employee-initiated groups of University of Arkansas faculty and staff who share common interests, backgrounds, characteristics or pursuits.Serve as a link connecting collaborators with University of Arkansas students,alumni, and staff who self-identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community,engage the university and support the mission of the Office for Diversity andInclusion.Provide professional development, support, mentoring, outreach and community support for alumni and students through events and to support University of Arkansas student groups and the student body at large.Address issues facing students and employees who self-identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community in order to create a diverse environment that actively fosters respect, inclusion, and opportunities for all and promotes equal access to education for students.Celebrate the contributions of alumni who self-identify as members of theLGBTQ+ community and facilitate inclusive dialogue to strengthen and servethe state of Arkansas
Membership BenefitsMembership is open to faculty, staff and partners who share common interests in facilitating the purposes of the group.1. Encouraged to attend all meetings and to become involved in committee and project work.2. Propose ideas that foster the mission of recruitment, retention and diversity.3. To vote on all proposals presented to the Lavender LGBTQ+ resource group.4. To be nominated and elected for Officer positions.
