A little history...
In 2015, University of Arkansas partnered with a company called OrgSync to bring a student-targeted tool for campus engagement. We would join hundreds of other schools on this platform designed to unite each campus while highlighting student organizations, events, and campus highlights. At that time, we decided to brand our branch of the product "HogSync", as it remains today.
Shortly after we began our partnership with OrgSync, they merged with a new company called CampusLabs. Together they created a redesigned platform that combined their two competing products: Engage which launched in 2017. Our campus ended the contract with CampusLabs/Engage in June of 2023.
Based on feedback from faculty, staff, and students, we began a new partnership with a company called CampusGroups. So the system you see today is actually CampusGroups but still branded as HogSync as we already had that product on our campus.
So what is CampusGroups/HogSync?
CampusGroups/HogSync primarily serves three distinct groups of users: students looking to get involved, student leaders or involved students, and administrators. HogSync provides students opportunities to get involved through organizations and events. Students can use HogSync to search through a campus-wide listing of organizations and events. In HogSync, departments and organizations can have their own public-facing groups page where they can share out information with students. They can also list events on HogSync, allowing students to RSVP and save events to their personal calendars.
Student leaders are able to manage their organization’s rosters, events, forms, and other processes in HogSync. Involved students also utilize HogSync to track the positions they hold within organizations and showcase these valuable co-curricular experiences on the co-curricular transcript.
