Join us for the Student Affairs Digital Accessibility Workshop on April 15, 2026, from 1:00pm-3:00pm. This hands-on session is designed to help campus colleagues strengthen their digital accessibility skills ahead of the April 24, 2026, federal digital accessibility compliance date.

Members of the university's IT Accessibility HOG Team and CEA Document Conversion staff will be present to provide direct support, answer questions, and guide attendees through practical strategies for creating accessible digital content.

Participants must bring their laptop and come prepared to actively work on their documents, content, or digital materials during the workshop.

During this session, attendees will receive assistance with:

  • Ensuring documents are accessible and properly structured
  • Using high-contrast color combinations to improve readability
  • Adding meaningful alt text to images
  • Applying semantic formatting (formatting that has meaning) rather than formatting that is purely visual. For example, in the Blackboard text editor, use the "Header" text style to distinguish headings from paragraph text, rather than just changing the font size.

This workshop is ideal for anyone who creates documents, posts content online, or wants to improve the accessibility and inclusiveness of their digital materials.
